How To Find PODCASTS

iTunes podcast logoIn this second installment in the HOW-TO series, we'll look at how to find podcasts. With the advent of Apple's iPod digital media player and iTunes software, podcasting has taken off like a rocket, ushering in a whole new wave of content and media makers over the last two years. This wave's also brought with it many places to find and host podcasts.

As with vodcasts and videoblogs, you can find podcasts through a podcaster's individual site, or you can search the ever-growing list of directories popping up online everyday. Either way, you can subscribe to these special broadcasts through RSS feeds delivered directly to whatever podcatcher software you choose and downloaded into your portable digital media player for listening anytime, anywhere.

Here's a list of 10 directories where you can find a bunch of podcasts (again, democratically listed in alphabetical order). You'll also find them listed on our Resources page.

• iTunes Music Store (gotta download iTunes first!)
Libsyn (Liberated Syndication)
Odeo
Podcast.net
podCast411
Podcast Alley
Podcast Pickle
PodShow
Urban Sound Project
Yahoo Podcasts

There's definitely more where this came from, so stay tuned! (For more about podcasting, see definition.)
